Welcome to the monthly newsletter for Avon Park Residential Home.
The month of October saw Avon Park residents engaged in numerous art & craft activities to prepare decorations for the Halloween High Tea which was a terrific success.
In the middle of the month residents had a surprise visit from a few fluffy guests. Residents had great fun and we shared a lot of very heart-warming moments on this day. Our Residents also received a visit from the dentist this month to check up on their oral care.
Avon Park Care Home is packed with activities this month, here are some key dates to remember:
3rd November – Firework Picture Activity
8th November – Poppy Making
10th November – Card Making Activity
13th November - Remembrance Sunday
Our residents will celebrate Remembrance Sunday with a selection of Tea & Biscuits to remember those that have sacrificed so much for our Country.
Christmas is just around the corner and Avon Park Care is preparing for a special December. We're looking forward to getting festive with putting up decorations towards the end of the month

Christmas Shopping Trip
Wednesday 23rd November will see Avon Park host the amazing Doorstep Entertainment from 2:30pm. Residents will enjoy a joyous afternoon of song, dance and comedy followed by an Afternoon Tea Party!
Shopping Trips Finally Return!
Reintroducing our resident outings has been on our agenda for quite some time and finally we can say that at the end of November residents will be taken out by staff to local areas. Speaking to residents they are very excited to venture out for a spot of shopping and sightseeing. We will be sure to keep you updated with how they get on.
1-to-1 Time with Residents
At Avon Park we want to ensure that residents are not only provided with the right care but also made to feel part of a family during their time with us. Our Activities Coordinator, Sarah-Jayne, and the rest of the Avon Park team make it a priority to check in with each resident on a regular basis to get to know their life stories.
Christmas Preparations
As we near the end of 2022 the festive period will soon be upon us and as such we will be starting our festive preparations from 22nd November. This month residents will participate in a ‘Christmas Crafts’ activity to start preparing decorations that will be placed around the home across the festive period. Our Christmas Tree will be put up towards the end of November.
