Musicians
We had a fantastic start to the month as we welcomed Mark the Violinist into the residential home. He gave some wonderful renditions and is very clearly a talented young man! Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and all of us cannot wait for his return!
Flower Arranging
Who knew our residents had such a talent for flower arranging? Certainly not us when we first arranged our flower arranging afternoon! Pam led the afternoon session and the whole event went amazingly! We will definitely be making this a regular activity from now on.
Arts and Crafts
It may have only been October, but we were heavily in the Christmas spirit! The residents created some salt dough decorations and spent an afternoon painting them. Everyone is eager to see them hanging from the Avon Park Christmas tree very soon! Lookout on our social media for when we put up all the decorations!
In preparation for Armistice Day we were also busy making poppies!
Shopping
Sticking with the Christmas theme, we had loads of fun at Hedge End shopping for presents and gifts for families! We couldn’t help but start shopping for clothes for ourselves though!
Postcards for Kindness
We regularly receive postcards at the residential home and each month we take the time to read through them all and respond. Here are some of the lovely cards we received and some of our responses too! Get in touch with us if you would like to send and receive postcards with our residents!
Halloween Party
We ended the month with a fantastic Halloween party! A fabulous spread of food and some spooky treats too!
As always we run our care home with the philosophy that ‘Our residents do not live in our workplace, we work in their home.’
