It’s once again been a very busy month here at Avon Park with lots of activities to keep our residents entertained, fulfilled and stimulated!
At the start of the month we were very thrilled to welcome Kaye as our new activities coordinator. As commented on our Facebook page, Kay notes ‘I look forward to spending lots of time with everyone and more importantly having lots of fun! Please feel free to say Hi and suggest any ideas!’
Seasonal Activities
We had lots of seasonal activities this month including Fireworks arts and crafts at the start of the month, followed by making Poppy’s in preparation for Armistice day on the 11th.
We’re also already getting in the festive spirit and have spent time decorating our own baubles for the Christmas tree and have also made calendars for the New Year!
Entertainment and Musical Interludes
We had some amazing musicians in this month including the extremely talented harpists, Sasha and Yasmin.
As well as some hilarious entertainers from Doorstep Entertainment. We laughed so much that our cheeks hurt! Thank you so much, we look forward to your next visit.
Our residents also enjoyed lots of dance parties with some old tunes to get them all dancing and clapping, and some singing!
Games and Quizzes
To keep minds sharp and active, we included lots of games and quizzes in our activity timetable including bingo, a music quiz and a quick quiz!
Exercise
To ensure fitness levels and mobility are kept up, we offer a range of exercise and fitness activities in our schedule. This month we enjoyed a game of skittles, armchair Twister and a range of mobility exercises.
Alongside those we also enjoyed some pampering with residents having had the chance to get their nails done and some baking!
