August was a fabulous month weather-wise. Many of our ladies made the best of the sun, and frequently in the afternoons, sat out in the garden around the table sheltered by parasols from the direct sun and chatted together whilst enjoying their cup of tea.
The new chef started this month and his food is fantastic. All the residents I have spoken to really look forward to lunchtimes and what new meals they can expect to enjoy in the coming weeks.

Activities

As always, we continue to search for more varied and exciting activities to incorporate into our programme. In August we produced two pieces of prose, one for the return of Sharon who came back to entertain us with her singing and another we wrote to put on the poster for the summertime afternoon tea. This month we will be trying our hand at indoor planting, a small herb garden and winter pansies. Also anyone who wants to try their hand at jewellery making will be welcome to come along and design and make an item picking from the selection of beads we have been generously donated.

Summertime Afternoon Tea Event

Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves and there was a general of voices discussing different subjects in the room. Including the residents there were around 60 people here, eating and drinking the tasty spread laid on. You may have noticed the flower arrangements on the tables, these were all arranged by 7 of our ladies and I think you will agree were beautifully done.
Management sincerely hope that everyone enjoyed themselves and give a huge thank you to all who attended.
