As every month we continue to keep our residents entertained with a range of activities and had children visiting us before the lockdown!
We’ve also had two special birthdays and started to prepare for Easter.
We really enjoyed doing some Easter arts and crafts as we decorated some eggs to add to our Easter display. We even made Easter bunny and some cute little chickens for the company! How lovely these look?
We also did some word searches and shamrocks for Saint Patrick’s Day!
Even though the situation is very unfortunate for our residents as because of a lockdown they can’t see their family and loved ones, we wanted to make Mother’s day special for them! We’ve put some decorations, prepared special lunch for all residents so they could have some wonderful time together. And as weather was very pleasing, we were making the most of the beautiful sunshine by walking around our lovely garden.
The whole month our residents had a chance to improve their
singing skills in a sing-a-long afternoons that we’ve had during March. Our
residents and staff even had a chance to show their dance moves! We wish you
could hear what voices and see what dance moves they have!
We’ve welcomed Tom who came in to give our residents a talk about the Strawberry Fields in local area. The residents found it fascinating to learn all about the area and its rich history, and of course sweet and fruity strawberries!
Our residents love challenges and love competing with each
other, in a nice way of course!
To exercise the brain, we played word games, board games, and of course bingo!
We have also welcomed some very special guests before the lockdown – children from Chuckles Childcare. The residents and children had lots of fun playing with balloons and toy dogs! Then we spent some time replying to some postcards which we received through postcards of kindness. We have received so many over the months and are thankful every time we get one.
Physical exercises are very important here at Avon Park. Even though we feel exhausted after an exercise but we have so much fun at the same time! And of course, moving helps to keep bones healthier and stronger. That’s why we had some ball throwing and armchair exercises.
We’ve had two ladies’ birthdays in March!
And we’ve had another very special birthday as we celebrated Pearls 101 birthday!
Even though we can’t invite our hairdresser during lockdown, our lovely staff decided to step into hairdresser’s shoes and give some pampering to our residents. ❤️
