Every month we try to keep our residents entertained with a range of activities, including exciting games and mobility-friendly exercises.
We had a busy February which included celebrating Valentine’s day properly with some pampering and spoiling our residents.
It doesn’t matter how old you are – Valentine’s day is for everyone! We’ve had some fun with making heart shaped flowers, hearts with fluffy balls and love bunting. We also coloured some lovely pictures and even made a love tree!
All crafts were then hung on the wall and ceilings to spread the love!
We started Valentine’s morning with bingo which was followed by a love filled lunch with all the residents, and finally we finished off the day with singing and dancing with the lovely Amanda Parsons.
We had a chance to listen music from the 60s and beyond with Jigsaw. How amazing were they!
Lovely Tom Carr visited us from Fire & Rescue services to give our residents a talk about his experience through the years. It was a fascinating talk which we all enjoyed!
To give some challenge to the brains we had to generate as many words as we can from one word letters. We have chosen word ‘Serendipity’ and we came up with an impressive number of 101 words!
We also wanted to try a different style of Bingo – Music bingo! We’ve played music for some time and residents had to guess what song it is. It was a very fun and lovely game to play and to remember some old good tunes!
We thought it would be amazing to have a little trip down memory lane so our residents brought photos that are important to them and they shared the memories with others.
As with every month, this month we had some fun exercise and fitness activities. Sally helped us to improve our throwing and catching skills, and we used some smaller balls to improve our dexterity and strength in our arms!
A couple of days after Valentine’s, we had another important occasion! it was one of our dear resident Michael’s birthday – we truly hope you had a great day celebrating.
Next to all those activities we had some pampering with residents having their nails done whilst having a natter.
